RATES AND INSURANCE

Rates for therapy sessions will be discussed during your consultation or during your first office visit.
 

My customary fee is $160 per 50 minute therapy hour. Payment is required at the beginning of each session and accept

cash, PayPal, Venmo, Square or credit card.  

I am currently accepting the following insurance plans:   AETNA, ANTHEM PPO only, MHN / HealthNet, CIGNA, OPTUM, ILWU PPO, UNITED BEHAVIORAL HEALTH, UNITED HEALTH CARE and BLUE CROSS / BLUE SHIELD PPO. 

I am no longer providing service to Kaiser or Carelon clients as I am no longer contracted. However, at times Kaiser does allow a single case agreement (Please call them directly.) If you provide me with your information, I would be happy to verify your benefits and confirm that I am in network. 

Your sessions may be covered by insurance including PPO.   If using a PPO, you will pay for each of your sessions ahead of time AND at the end of every month I will provide you with a “Superbill”, or receipt, that you can submit to your insurance provider for full or partial reimbursement. I will be considered an “out-of-network” provider. You can verify your insurance coverage by asking your insurance company about your benefits.

We accept cash, check, Major Credit Cards, HSA / Health Savings Account & some Insurance Plans as an out of network provider are all acceptable forms of payment.  Credit cards are accepted via Square in the office or PayPal online at FindingSolutionsTogether.com on the Make A Payment page.  If you choose the credit option to pay for your session, please complete payment before your session. We also accept credit card payment in the office:  Visa, Master Card, American Express and Discover.
 

Please also note that you do not need a PayPal account to complete a payment through PayPal. 

If subpoenaed or requested, my fee is $320/hour with a minimum of four hours.  This fee is to be paid in advance of or the commencement of testimony, deposition or any proceedings. 

I am an "out of network" provider.  PPO insurance plans that offer coverage for "out of network" services may help cover the cost of therapy.  HMO's will not cover the sessions. However, psychotherapy is considered a medical expense and you can use it as a tax write off at the end of the year.

Working with me as an Out of Network provider, you will pay the customary rate ($160) for each session in full when service is rendered and I will provide a "Super Bill" for you to submit to your insurance company that may cover all or a portion of your session costs depending on your insurance coverage.  You will be reimbursed by the insurance company if the service is covered.
 

Please verify your benefits prior to your first session.
 

Check your coverage carefully by asking your insurance provider the following questions:
 

Do I have mental health benefits?
What is covered? How many sessions per year are covered?
What is my deductible and has it been met?
Will individual sessions, family, couples, child/play therapy be covered?
What is the coverage amount per therapy session for an out of network provider?
 

Some people choose to pay out of pocket and not utilize insurance companies as they do not offer you the client/patient complete confidentiality.  If billing is submitted to an insurance company, they will likely it require information such as a diagnosis and attendance history, but not specific information that is discussed in session.  

 If you no show your appointment or do not give me 24 hours-notice before your appointment that you will not be able to attend, you will be required to pay for the full cost of the session.
 

Also, it is a rarity that I will need to cancel sessions due to personal reasons or clinical reasons relating to another client.  

Reduced fee services are available on a limited and as needed basis.  This fee is based on income and some financial information is required before fee is determined.   Please contact me for further information or if you have any questions.
